Infant Program

Our infant care environment is cozy, warm, and specially designed for mobility.

In our infant classroom setting, we foster and nurture your child’s independence:

  • Plenty of floor space for children to move and explore, as they are ready
  • We follow a child’s natural sleeping and waking process
  • Meals and feedings are determined by a child’s natural hunger patterns

Toddler Program

The Toddler Program at CherryCart is designed for children 14 months to 2.5 years of age. It is not just a daycare, but rather an enriched, environment that stimulates the child’s natural curiosity. It meets their innate developmental needs while supporting their quest to become independent, social beings. Their day consists of an active play/work time, snack/lunch, nap time and circle or group time. Our teachers and assistants are patient, and caring individuals who will help your child develop routines, guide social interactions, provide stimulating activities and care for all your child’s needs. Gross motor and fine motor activities are part of the daily routine. Age appropriate materials are provided to enhance the toddler’s language, cognitive and motor skill development as well as promote independence and social interactions.

Primary Program

Our Montessori Primary environment caters to children aged between 2.5 yrs to 6 yrs. The children are free to choose activities which interest them for the desired length of time.

The Primary program offers a unique, mixed-age classroom environment. The materials are mostly self-correcting to reduce the need for adult intervention. Here, children engage in individual learning experiences, as well as one-on-one interactions, which are integral to the Montessori Method. They are introduced to Practical Life and Sensorial activities and later move on to concepts of Language and Math. Children begin with Practical Life activities that help build concentration and interest. They choose their work and repeat activities because of their sensitivity to order and perfection. They build independence and self discipline while working in the environment. As concentration builds, they look for more challenges. Sensorial, language and math allow them towards further exploration. Children use concrete materials to learn math; movable alphabet letters to explore language; and cubes, cylinders and other objects to categorize, find spatial relationships, and more. By manipulating concrete materials, gives children a solid understanding of basic mathematical principles, prepares them for abstract reasoning, and helps to develop problem-solving capabilities. Activities related to items of culture eg: Geography, history, botany, zoology, art, music help enhance the child’s creativity. Children learn about other cultures, gain experience with nature and learn about the environment. There is a focus on grace, courtesy, respect, and independence. The entire program focuses on each child progressing at his own pace in an environment that nurtures the love of learning. The overall goal is to provide a caring environment in which individual developmental needs are satisfied through the use of manipulative materials and guidance of the directress.

To reap the maximum benefit from the Montessori Method, it is strongly encouraged that the child completes three years at The CherryCart.
